The insulating machines are used for priming and coating by adhesive polymeric tapes, and also applying of combined coatings of "Plastobite", "Transkor" and etc. types with simultaneous applying of a protective wrapper of different types, including thermocontractable tapes of a DPL type, on an outer surface of mainline pipelines with diameters from 377 to 1420 mm
The primer is placed on a surface of a pipe line and is spread by towels fixed on a rotor. The insulation materials are applied by bobbins. The machine is detachable and can be installed on an acting pipeline. The control of the machine is carried out by the control console located on the telescopic rod. The machines are capable to move on indirect pipeline section and have a reverse also. There are demountable operating floors.
The machines are made in following versions:

- for application of rolled insulation material only, including materials with remove back of "LIAM", "LITKOR", "RAM" and etc. types (not completed with devices for insulation by bituminous materi-als);
- only for applying a primer – the priming machines GM series;
- with pressure traverse gear (for operation on sloping pipeline up to 35 degrees upward);
